Khanyisile Mgidi is a grade 12 learner at Jeppe High School for Girls. She plans to study medicine after matric. This was inspired by a childhood memory of seeing her mother in hospital who had just had an operation. Khanyisile was five years old at the time and although she was very concerned about her mother’s health, she was comforted by the knowledgeable and caring doctors who were looking after her mother in the hospital. This inspired, in her, a desire to study medicine.
Khanyisile has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, having been elected RCL of her grade 8 class upon arrival at Jeppe High School for Girls. Now in her matric year, she serves as the head girl of the school. She has also received her academic colours and is in the top ten academic achievers in her grade.
Khanyisile shows great potential and her achievements thus far have made her a worthy recipient of The Emmanuel Taban Foundation Scholarship Program as she also embodies the values of passion, determination and consistency.
